Joining the team
CERT Membership
CERT Basic Training is open to participants age 16 and older. Full City of Menifee CERT membership begins at age 18 and requires completion of CERT Basic Training plus ICS-100, ICS-200, and ICS-700.
Membership requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a valid driver’s license or valid identification
- Complete CERT Basic Training and the required ICS-100, ICS-200, and ICS-700 modules
- Complete and sign all necessary forms, releases, and agreements
- Submit initial and subsequent background investigations
- Register as a Disaster Service Worker (DSW)
After completing required training
- Complete Live Scan and provide a photo.
- Complete the Disaster Service Worker forms. Keeping a copy in your vehicle is optional but highly recommended.
- Receive your CERT badge, which indicates to CAL FIRE and police that you have completed the requirements to be on site.
