Joining the team
CERT Membership
Basic Training is open to participants age 16 and older. Full City of Menifee CERT membership begins at age 18 and has additional requirements.
Membership requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a valid driver’s license or valid identification
- Complete the FEMA-required Basic CERT Training
- Complete and sign all necessary forms, releases, and agreements
- Submit initial and subsequent background investigations
- Register as a Disaster Service Worker (DSW)
After completing training
- Complete Live Scan and provide a photo.
- Complete the Disaster Service Worker forms. Keeping a copy in your vehicle is optional but highly recommended.
- Receive your CERT badge, which indicates to CAL FIRE and police that you have completed the requirements to be on site.
